We went from Hartsburg to North Jefferson on the Katy trail for our weekend ride.
This part of the trail has been flooded, so the gravel is partially washed away and puddles litter the trail a bit-- we also had to walk our bikes over a tree. It's over run with tiny little toads that spot away as you ride. We took easy as we road towards the North Jefferson trailhead due to the conditions, but it was very scenic and lush.
As we approached Jefferson City, we have an awesome view of the Missouri capital building and we rode right along the highway. I have driven that highway several times and never even knew that the Katy Trail ran along it.
Once we made it to North Jefferson, we had to turn right around because there was no way we were going to make it home before dark. Our way home was much quicker because we booked it through the easy sections.
I kept going because I knew I had raisinettes in the car waiting for me and Josh too.
Overall, we rode 20.67 miles. That's not too bad, considering it was also leg day at the gym.
